Background
Huawei is a world-leading telecom solutions provider focused on building long-term IT partnerships with telecom operators by providing customized network solutions for mobile carriers. Symantec, a US company is a world reknowned leader in computer system management software. It\'s application such as Norton Utilities, protects computers from viruses, processing safety, protocol validity and conformity.

Huawei and Symantec announced in May 2007 the formation of a joint-venture to develop storage appliances security systems marketed toward telecommunications carriers aiming to offer the best secured information system, storage appliances and solution plans, under the two best brand name experts in these fields.

Huawei Symantec joint-venture transmitted both company’s technological advantages: the network solutions & implementation experience of Huawei and key intellectual properties in storage and safety products of Symantec.

Challenges
Huawei & Symantec have both a very different visual identity and a very different culture. Huawei is consider a serious, down to earth company, while Symantec is as open and lively, almost humorous. The objective quickly appeared to find a smart organic solution in combining these two cultures.

Solution
We made ful use of our creativity to define the core features of the logo. Among prototype developed we imagined dynamic accumulation of colored lumps. Another one presented a serious linear design with straight segments curving into space representing both rigidity and flexibility. After further discussions, we came up with an agreement that the flexi/rigid approach matched best the corporate persona of this joint venture.

Creation
The grey gradient is a symbol of business field integration, cooperating approach (grey matches any other color) and refer to a serious leadership style.
The dynamic curvature in the shape project power and stylish beauty, intensified by the firy orange coming out of it.
